End of O1, end of sea regatta, beginning of lessons...sigh...how I miss O1 man...all the fun that we had...yeah...but well...life goes on haha. Yeah...It was an excellent 5 days of orientation but well...Isaz wasn't as enthu as we wanted it to be ya. But I do understand a change in culture is diffcult for people ya...haha so unlike the crazy 3 OGLs with the likes of Rong Shang, Choon Yong and me haha. Many thanks to Rong Shang and Choon Yong cos they've just helped me so much during the course of O1. Yeah...I was the team ic but well...I happen to be missing most of the time as well haha...like during first day of registration, my maths r, prep for sea regatta or even on sea regatta itself yeah. Truly, truly grateful to have 2 wonderful and responsible OGLs to share my workload and hype up the year 1s with me. Not to mention the ever present OG heads of Icis: Imran and Clarissa. Clarissa has been stuck with all the background admin work which is er...something I have never really liked haha...she had done an excellent job with the stuff and she's been really, really responsible, taking care of almost everything ya. Imran is another one, great leadership skills...so good until it reminds me of Santosh la...Their way of doing things is really similar ya. But well, Clar sometimes too serious and Imran sometimes really take things too lightly ya so a fair mix of each other will do them good haha. They have been exceptional...yeah and we'd have died without them ya. Sadly, I did let fatigue get the better of me sometimes yeah, and I feel my performance was just satisfactory as there're many areas I could've done better in, be it as a Victorian, an OGL or just as a senior...but well...the O1 experience is like no others =) Thanks to everyone who made it so magnificent.
Heh...another thing is CT Council ya...whether we should allow more than 1 per class including the CT reps. The current state of CTC is really quite pathetic yeah...functional number about 20 plus? If dock off those with huge commitments would be 10 plus and esp on days when need manpower it can just drop to single digit. It's really irritating and bugging me man, cos some people just don't wanna be part of CTC and I see no point in forcing one from every class into our council. CT rep and CT councilor is not a single entity IMHO. The council was like that from the 10th and before and I don't see why there is a change just cos the PEARLS system was implemented. Quality of council has degraded rather drastically and it's cos of unenthu people who don't wanna do anything ya. I'm rather experienced at this kindda crap and I know that we need people willing to do things, rather than those who are just coupled with the ability to do stuff. It's discouraging for some too, so it's definitely a good idea to import willing people into our council to improve both our efficiency and quality ya...selection process through interviews and the stuff we had mentioned before is very limited cos can only see how things really go when work and stuff is distributed to the new initiates...using the "exclusive" status and CT rep and CT councilor as single entity are lame and bull excuses to keep the council small. We'll be able to cope with an increase in members if we're willing to put in the effort. Having too many reservations about things will only keep things as they are. As the saying goes, No venture, no gain.
Oh yes and for class stuff, thanks a lot to Shuyun who has been fulfilling my responsibilities during my absence for the past week ya. She's done a great job. And I've to write the letter for the angel mortal thingy...apparently all the girls write liao and left 5 guys who haven't lol...so ya...anyway very suay today cos couldn't find my arenes tut and dec hol work...then during cny prep for the decor...starting the wooden planks fell then i stretch my arm to block la, but the girl still felt the full brunt of the blow...so unlucky la...hope she alright. Then my left arm got some long mark cos got scraped by the wooden plank haha...looks serious la but only got small scratches at the end of the abrasion haha...heal faster ah lol and must be more disciplined to do my work and train =)
